Got Moves?

Ashleigh loves her iTouch! Actually the entire family, including G, loves Ashleigh's iTouch. Ashleigh is also obsessed with video taping herself. The kids (Sn: I always think of baby goats when I refer to them as kids, but I think calling them children sounds too formal, so I think of baby goats often LOL ) kept trying to video tape themselves, so I offered to help.

Ashleigh, Cooper, and Addison making their debut to "I'm Sexy and I know It" ...the Chipmunks version. Use this link and enjoy!

Cooper was able to convince me to dance as well, but the video was somehow deleted. Not sure how that happened ;)

Stained "Glass" Hearts

While perusing Pinterest, I came across an oldie but a goodie. Using wax paper and crayons to make stained "glass"....something that I did as a child and totally had forgotten about. It also made me remember a few other things that I did with wax paper that will keep the children busy and happy.

Things Needed-
Crayon Shavings ( I used a pencil sharpener)
Wax Paper
Iron
Scissors

I told Addy that we would do this for Valentine's Day so that she could make hearts. I am sure she could sharpen the crayons for the shavings herself, but I get a little OCD with messes, so I did the crayon shavings. I placed all the colors (oranges, reds, yellow and white) in one baggie.

I placed an old towel down on the ironing board and we put a sheet of wax paper on top of the towel. Addy sprinkled the crayon shavings on to the wax paper. Then we placed another sheet of was paper on top. To protect the iron, I placed a wash cloth on top of the wax paper and ironed the wash cloth. The heat melted the crayons and made the wax paper stick together.

Once cooled, Addy cut the hearts out.

The ones I had seen online were hung up with string, but I wanted them placed in my door's side window, so I just taped them up. I just love them!

I'm sure once Ash and Coop see these, they will want to try to make them. I should probably start making more crayon shavings now! :)

Take a Breath

I was making lunch for Addison the other day and she was rambling on as usual. This girl has major conversations with anyone willing to listen, possibly even those that aren't actively listening. I may have mentioned this before. Hmmm, come to think of it, I wonder what I have agreed to that I have no idea about.

Anyways, she was talking about how much one of Ashleigh's friends like Genevieve. Then all of a sudden, she bursts into:

Genna's 1!
NOT 12! Baby (our cat) is 12.
NOT 20! She would be as big as you!
NOT 80! 80 is old. Like, I can't even count to 80 yet.
Baby can't count to 80 either....cause she's a CAT!!!! (laughing)
I don't want Baby to die! (Sad face)

Ummm ok. She said all of that so fast, without even taking a breath and she went from laughing to pouting in milli seconds I actually had to replay it in my head once I had realized she stopped talking and was looking at me for some sort of response. My response? I burst out laughing and told her I had to write all that down to blog about it. Then I addressed her fear of Baby dying...poor thing is always worried about the cats!

This girl cracks me up!

Falln' In Love Again

Today, while driving around in the car, we were listening to the radio and Usher's "DJ Got Us Fall'n In Love Again" was playing.

Crack'n

Quick background: Ever since I can remember, my ankles make a clicking sound whenever I walk. Not sure what causes it, but there's no pain, so it doesn't bother me. I don't even notice it. Paul used to call me "Snap, Crackle and Pop".

But I don't want to grow up....

You know how kids always say the funniest, cutest, and craziest things? Well, with 4 kids, we hear a ton of comments. Some will crack you up, others are quite serious and you can't believe a child would even think to say it, and some will bring tears to your eyes. And with girls, these comments usually also demonstrate their quick changing moods. Oh how fun the teen years will be! LOL

Today, while Addison was eating breakfast, she was watching Little Bill and they were attending a wedding. She looked at me and the converation went like this:

Addy: Did you love your wedding Mommy?
Me: Absolutely! It was fantastic!
Addy: I can't wait until I get married. I'm gonna have a pretty dress and a boyfriend.
Me: Yes, but it's going to be a long time before that happens.
Addy: Will you let my boyfriend come to the house after we're married?
Me: Of Course, but you don't need to worry about that right now.
Addy: I don't want to get married.
Me: Ok. Why?
Addy: (Crying) Because I don't want to grow up. I don't want to leave you and Daddy!
Me: That's sweet hunny. You can stay with Mommy and Daddy for as long as you want.
Addy: Ok. ( Sniffle, sniffle)
Me: Why are you crying, you don't need to worry about it for at least another 16 years.Wipe your tears. One day you'll be running for the door.
Addy: Ok, but you'll still let me stay here right?
Me: Yes, Addy.
