The Story of Us

I guess I'll begin from the beginning...

Paul and I met in high school in 1996, he was a Senior and I was a Freshman.  We finally started "dating" in April, although I was technically not allowed to go anywhere with him in his car until I turned 16...4 months later! So he always had to come to my house or his parents had to come pick me up and take me to his house (how embarrassing,right?).
I knew he was a keeper after putting up with all that! LOL

I would say the turning point in our relationship was the death of Paul's Dad, Paul Jr. He passed away in 2000 and I basically never returned home. We were engaged the next month and bought a house in June 2000.

While planning our wedding, Paul was offered a job in Chicago, so we jumped at the opportunity. Chicago was great, we moved there in March 2001 and we were married in June 2001.  Due to some unfortunate events with family, we had to move back to WV in November. This was devasting to Paul as his company had just offered him a position that would oversee his Chicago office. Once we had moved back to WV and established jobs, we decided to start trying to expand our family.

After what seemed like forever, we were pregnant with our first daughter, Ashleigh and she was born in April 2003. She was perfect!

 We decided we were going to try for another child and had our first son, Cooper, in December 2005, 3 weeks early. Again, perfect! Ashleigh adored him!

 In August 2006, we discovered that we were expecting again. While this news was a surprise, we always knew we wanted more children and were very excited. Our 2nd daughter, Addison, arrived in March 2007, 4 weeks earlier than anticipated.  She was perfect, and Ashleigh was so excited to have a sister. Cooper was still too young to really understand who this little additon was.

In 2009, we decided we wanted to move to NC. We had always wanted to move to NC and finally had the opportunity. In June 2009, we moved to Holly Springs, NC. It was so exciting to make such a big move!

In late January 2010, we decided that we wanted to try for our 4th and final child. On Feb 14th, Valentine's Day, we got a BFP! We couldn't believe that we were already pregnant and we were so excited to meet our new addition. Ashleigh, Cooper, and Addison could barely wait to meet "Bean"! We referred to her as Bean until we knew the sex and had her name picked out.

Genevieve was born in October 2010, 4 weeks early according to the doctors but perfect in every way, just like her brother and sisters. She has really completed our family. The kids love her so much and help out all the time...they are great older siblings!

It is now January 2011 and we are looking forward to the new adventures that come our way. I've decided to blog about our life so that Ashleigh, Cooper, Addison, and Genevieve have an organized description of all of the great things to come!
